An epic journey to ford fair 2024

The largest Ford auto show is held in Silverstone, England every summer in August. The show is now in its 38th year and last year had over 5,000 cars on display and 18,000 guests attending. In other words, it’s huge!

I will drive the 6000 km long journey, starting in northern Sweden just below the Arctic Circle, through almost all of Sweden and on to Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, France and finally into the UK and the Ford Fair in SILVERSTONE. The trip is about 5 days long in each direction.

The car I will be driving and exhibiting is my Ford Fiesta “Alice” from 1982 with her newly converted 2.0l 150hp engine. Alice has a big role in my YouTube channel Mike the mechanic which has 1335 subscribers and my Instagram with 707 followers currently.

Christmas 2023, I released a video on my YouTube channel where I told my subscribers (and everyone else who sees it) about my plans to drive Alice down to Silverstone and the interest is great to see Alice at the show.

The whole trip (round trip, as well as on site in Silverstone) will be able to be followed on my social media (Facebook, Instagram and YouTube) through various posts along the way. In addition, all preparations for the trip will be able to be followed on my channels. There will be a lot of exposure if you want to go in as a sponsor.

I have already been in contact with several other youtubers and have discussed the possibilities of collaborating with them along the way to further expose my journey.

I have also been in contact with Classic Ford Magazine in the UK, the world’s largest and best-selling classic Ford Magazine, which gives me a place in their stand at the Ford show as well as a mini-report in their exhibition report.

I have contacted Ford Fair and Retro Ford Magazine who have said that they will give me coverage of the trip via their social media accounts (16,000 and 25,000 followers respectively on Instagram).

I estimate the cost to be about 40 000 SEK, (about 15 000 SEK for fuel, about 10 000 SEK for accommodation, about 10 000 SEK for other costs such as toll fees, channel tunnel tickets etc) so I am now looking for sponsors who can help me reach this challenge.

If you want to be a part of this adventure and be seen both before the trip, along the way through Sweden, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, France and England, on my social media and at the Ford Fair in Silverstone, this is a fantastic opportunity to really be exposed, while helping to get Alice to Silverstone.
